Crowley Awards Scholarships to Business Students

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently awarded two scholarships to students at the University of Washington's Michael G. Foster School of Business. The students - Rene Elamparo and Senait Chrisostomo - were chosen for their academic achievements, ambitious business goals and financial need. A first generation Filipino, Elamparo's parents immigrated to the United States and at a young age instilled in him the importance of education and what it helps build a successful life. Crowley Scholarships to Business Students

Crowley continues to recognize exemplary students across the U.S., with Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships. This month, Steven Hoag, a freshman, and Tirhase Haddis, a sophomore, who are both business majors at the University of Washington, were each awarded $5,000 scholarships based on their academic records and financial need. Hoag has a cumulative grade point average of 3.58 and has made the University of Washington's Deans List. He is an active member of the fraternity Alpha Sigma Phi and in his free time enjoys weightlifting, rugby, current events and history. Haddisis studying business with a concentration in marketing and human resources management.
