The total investment in six luxury ships for Explora Journeys worth $3.7BMSC Group Cruises Division confirmed the order of two hydrogen ships for its luxury brand Explora Journeys with Fincantieri, confirming its commitment to achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050. DNV Grants Approval for Liquid Hydrogen Cargo Containment System

CB&I, McDermott's storage business, has received Approval in Principle (AiP) for its design of a liquid hydrogen (LH2) cargo containment system from DNV.CB&I collaborated with Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited to provide safe LH2 shipping solutions that enable hydrogen energy supply chains using gas carriers.The containment system design is based on CB&I's proven vacuum-insulated spherical technology for onshore LH2 storage. CB&I has designed and constructed more than 130 large, field-erected LH2 storage tanks worldwide over the past 60 years.

Canada's New Oil Spill Response Barges Launched

French multinational naval engineering firm Gaztransport & Technigaz SA (GTT) has received orders from an Asian Shipyard concerning the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tank design of three new LNG carriers.All three will be built on behalf of European ship-owners. The delivery of these vessels is scheduled between the end of 2021 and mid-2022.The names of the contracting parties and the characteristics of the vessels remain confidential at this stage.GTT is an engineering company expert in containment systems with cryogenic membranes used to transport and store liquefied gas, in particular LNG.The company designs and provides technologies which combine operational efficiency and safety, to equip LNG carriers, floating terminals, and multi-gas carriers.

GTT LNG Carrier Orders at Record Highs

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a company specialised in the design of membrane containment systems for maritime transportation and storage of liquefied gas, said its business activity was marked by a number of successes during the first nine months of 2019, particularly in the field of LNG carriers.In addition to the 26 orders for LNG carriers booked during the first half of the year, there were an additional 14 bookings in the third quarter of 2019, i.e. a total of 40 LNG carrier orders during the first nine months of 2019.GTT's core business activity is, therefore, at a particularly high level. All of the carriers will be equipped with GTT's recent technologies (Mark III Flex+, Mark III Flex and NO96 GW).

GTT Wins Two Orders from Hyundai Heavy

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) announced that it has  received two orders from the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).Each order is concerning the tank design of one new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier (LNGC), one on behalf of the ship-owner Tsakos and the other one on behalf of Capital Gas Carriers, said the engineering company.Each unit will offer a capacity of 174,000 m3, it said.GTT will design the tanks of the vessels, which will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system. KHI Wins AiP from DNV GL for LFPP

The international accredited registrar and classification society DNV GL has awarded the Japanese multinational corporation Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) an Approval in Principle (AIP) for their LNG floating power plant (LFPP).The classification body said in a press release that the LFPP is a decentralized energy generation solution that enables locations to tap into natural gas as part of their power mix.The LFPP concept is designed for installation in areas where energy demand is rapidly increasing, but onshore infrastructure is not feasible or commercially viable. Instead, the LNG would be offloaded from a carrier, stored onboard in two cylindrical (IMO type C) tanks, and then regasified for power generation and exported to the onshore grid.
