Globecomm Installs Complete Solutions on MV Baltic

Globecomm, one of the leading providers of maritime connectivity services, has installed a complete communications solution on MV Baltic, the latest newbuild to join the Global Seatrade fleet. To meet demanding connectivity needs, Globecomm delivered its global Ku-band VSAT solution with VoIP services, an Iridium Pilot L-Band system and KNS S8 to enable flat fee internet access and live TV services onboard the new heavy cargo roll-on/roll-off vessel ship. VSAT Connectivity by Globecomm for Malaysia's PBJV Group

Globecomm Maritime, a leading provider of maritime communications solutions, has been awarded a contract to provide VSAT connectivity to PBJV Group's barge Kota Laksamana 101. The barge, which accommodates up to 300 personnel, was recently chartered to Petronas, a fully integrated energy company based in Malaysia. Under the terms of the deal, PBJV is required to provide a dedicated 512kbps up and down link to Petronas staff working on board the vessel. Globecomm Asia Regional Sales Manager Kian Ong, who led the project, says the scope of Globecomm's solution exceeded PBJV's expectations, despite intense competition for the contract.

Globecomm to Provide VSAT for PBJV Barge

Purpose-built accommodation and pipe-lay barge on charter to Petronas equipped with VSAT and L-Band services. Globecomm Maritime has been awarded a contract to provide VSAT connectivity to PBJV Group’s barge Kota Laksamana 101. Iridium Communications Inc. Heavy-lift specialist is first customer to sign up for new flat-rate global coverage VSAT service package. Globecomm Systems Inc., a global provider of communications solutions and services, announced today that Global Seatrade, a unit of the Hartman Marine Group, has awarded it a contract for unified maritime communications. Services will be provided by Mach6, a unit of Globecomm Maritime, using its global VSAT platform, which provides automatic roaming between Ku-band satellite beams on a global basis at a flat rate.
