International Freight & Logistics Network Inc, a new network of independent international transportation companies, has recently been established. The organization will promote and support freight handling, logistics, customs brokerage and other related services, said Michel Vanlerberghe, who started the operation in Oak Brook, Ill. Companies eligible for the service include any transportation related firms, including non-vessel operating common carriers, steamship lines, air carriers, port authorities, law firms, industry associations, consulting specialists and others. The idea is to promote a worldwide network that will allow members to compete directly with multinational companies, Vanlerberghe said.
