Marlink, a global provider of satellite and digital communication solutions, is implementing a fleet-wide migration of its smart managed network solution for offshore vessel operator Miclyn Express Offshore (MEO Group) to support its ongoing digitalization program. Under a contract of an undisclosed value, Marlink said it would outfit 102 MEO Group vessels with its Sealink VSAT solution, providing high throughput connectivity across the fleet, and enabling personnel on transfer and vessel crews to utilize connectivity for welfare purposes.

The newly launched Maggie Cat, an Incat Crowther 31, will partner with Coolgaree Cat in a refreshed Sealink line-up operating out of Townsville. Coolgaree Cat entered service in late 2020 and operates between Townsville and Palm Island. Sealink Travel Group has taken delivery of Coolgaree Cat, a newly built passenger vessel developed specifically for the Palm Island and Magnetic Island runs, operated from Townsville in Queensland, Northern Australia. The new ferry was handed over from Australian builder Aluminium Marine earlier this month ahead of its official entry into service this past weekend.The 32-meter catamaran was developed by marine engineering design firm Incat Crowther in close conjunction with the operator Sealink to offer a number of improvements over those currently in service on the run.

A double-ended ro-pax ferry Nairana has been launched for service to Bruny Island in Tasmania. The Incat Crowther 44 design vessel was commissioned by Sealink Travel Group and built by Richardson Devine Marine in Hobart.According to Incat Crowther, Nairana will bring improvements in both transit and turn-around times. The vessel combines a robust aluminum structure, double-ended functionality and a catamaran platform with a generous beam offering fuel savings compared to a monohull.The ferry is configured to carry 36 cars and 192 passengers.
