Rolls-Royce has a Gas with Bergen Engines
March 2013 saw Rolls Royce collect the Green Ship Technology Award at the Green Ship Technology Conference in Hamburg for its Environship concept, which has lean burn Bergen Engines gas power units at it core. The Environship combines a range of Rolls Royce technologies (Bergen Engines is a subsidiary business) in a cargo ship model that, set against comparable vessels using diesel power engines, offers CO2 reductions of up to 40% (alongside 92% reductions in NOx and 100% less SOx emissions).
Rolls Royce Wins Green Technology Award
Rolls-Royce plc has received the Green Ship Technology Award for its Environship concept â a revolutionary design and system solution for cargo ships that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 40 per cent compared to similar diesel powered vessels. The Environship, which can be adapted for different ship types, incorporates a range of Rolls-Royce technologies to deliver efficiency savings for ship owners.
Singapore and Malacca Straits Tidal Models Released
Recently developed commercial tidal models for the Singapore and Malacca Straits have been released in an exclusive online viewer. Developed by applied oceanography specialist Tidetech, the online viewer â OceanView â is an entry-level version of the companyâs tidal models, viewable on any internet browser and on internet capable mobile devices. OceanView offers a detailed tidal current atlas featuring tidal current predictions at 1km resolution for every 30 minutes.
Noboru Ueda's achievements at IACS
