NTSB to Meet on Houston Ship Collision
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will meet June 9 to discuss the vessel collision that took place in the Houston ship channel March 22, 2014. The NTSB meeting will aim to determine the probable cause of the “Texas Y” collision, which involved the bulk carrier MV Summer Wind, and the MV Miss Susan, a tow pushing two barges. As a result of the collision, a barge was breached releasing 168,000 gallons of fuel in the water.
