Offshore Large IMR Vessel Delivered to Bourbon
Bourbon takes delivery of the 3rd vessel in the large Inspection, Maintenance, Repair (IMR) series for the offshore industry. The Bourbon Evolution 803 is the latest in a series of vessels designed to operate in complete safety at depths of 3000 meters. The first two sisterships already operate in West Africa. Resource exploration is going into increasingly deep waters and the new milestone for oil and gas marine industry operations is now at 2,500 to 3,000 meters.
Proposed Canadian LNG Export Terminal Gets License
The federal government approves a 25-year export licence for shipping LNG from Kitimat, a West Coast terminal proposed by a Shell consortium . The licence awarded to LNG Canada, a consortium of Shell, Korea Gas Corp., Mitsubishi Corp., and PetroChina International, will allow the export of up to 24 million tonnes of LNG per year, the largest of three export licences awarded to date, according to The Canadian Press. The LNG Canada terminal is one of five proposed for the B.C.

Hydrex Performs Underwater Stern Tube Seal Repairs in US and Panama
Recently Hydrex diver/technician teams carried out two underwater stern tube seal repairs: one on a 143-meter general cargo ship in Galveston, Texas, and one on a 292-meter container vessel in Panama. Both vessels were experiencing oil leaks and a fast repair was required by the classification societies. Using the company’s flexible mobdocks, Hydrex teams were able to perform both operations on-site and underwater. This saved time and money for both owners.

Rolls-Royce Delivers Waterjets for US Navy LCS
Rolls-Royce delivered the Axial Mk1 waterjet for the latest Freedom-variant of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class, currently under construction for the U.S. Navy. This delivery marks the successful completion of the Office of Naval Research’s (ONR) Future Naval Capabilities (FNC) program for “Compact, High Power Density Waterjets”.
