Clear Lake Shores-based Castleman Maritime LLC has been commissioned by Texas tug operator, Signet Maritime LLC, to engineer and design their seventh ASD (Azimuthing Stern Drive) tug. This new 72' LOA x 28' Beam ASD tug is a smaller size, giving her operators improved maneuverability in the tight quarters found on Texas' inland waterways. Upon delivery, the M/V Signet Vigilant will operate from Signet's International Operations Center in Ingleside, Texas.

Corvus Lithium Energy Storage DNV-GL Type Approved
Corvus Energy’s lithium energy storage system is the world’s first to be type- approved by DNV GL. The type approval makes increased fuel efficiency and greatly reduced emissions available for heavy industries such as offshore oil and gas and commercial shipping, Corvus said. BOEM Proposes Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale

Coast Guard Rescues Iranian Mariners
While operating in the northern waters of the Gulf, a small vessel capsized in a remote area leaving five Iranian mariners stranded with no one to rescue them. This was the scenario these men faced prior to their chance discovery by the crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Maui. Rescue did not come to their aid until this 110-foot Coast Guard cutter happened to come across the mariners whose lives were saved by the quick-thinking Coast Guard crew.
