SBM Offshore Hit By Slowing Industry Spending
SBM Offshore the world's top oil production ship leaser, said on Wednesday a fall in orders hit its third-quarter revenue as clients trimmed spending amid ongoing low oil prices. A major port in Latin America is in the midst of an expansion project to increase its container handling capacity and accommodate Post-Panamax vessels. Commissioned for this project are two Ellicott cutter suction dredges, which are both currently at work deepening the berthing area for the new terminal. The first Ellicott dredge, a Series 370 with a 300 x 250 mm pump and 328 kW of total installed power, has been working at this port for over six months.

Next Generation of RAmparts Tugs for SAAM
Chilean maritime services and logistics company SAAM S.A. has signed a contract with naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd. for a new generation of RAmparts 2400-W Class tugs. The first two boats for SAAM’s Peruvian affiliate TRAMARSA, named Chincha and Tupac, are now under construction at Wuxi Shipyard in China with others soon to follow. The RAmparts 2400-W Class tugboat is a twin Z-drive, diesel-powered tug, designed for ship-assist and terminal support operations.

Bestobell Secures High Pressure Valve Orders
Bestobell Marine has secured two orders to supply its new range of high pressure globe and check valves to be used in high pressure fuel gas systems on board ships. The valves will be used within the pump and vapouriser skids for six LNG carriers that are being built at DSME shipyard and also for two LNG carriers being built at SHI (Samsung Heavy Industries), both in South Korea and due to be fitted with the MAN ME-GI engine.
Two Fast Supply Vessels Launched in Brazil
Two new UT4000 Monohull Fast Supply Vessels designed by Incat Crowther and built by ETP Engenharia Ltda have been launched. The new vessels, Baru Providencia and Baru Antares, are the third and fourth in a 12 vessel series, following on from Baru Gorgona and Baru Macura. According to Incat Crowther, the vessel designs have been optimized to comply with the UT4000 Fast Supply Vessel specification. Ships fuel is in excess of 40,000 liters, with a cargo fuel load of 90,000 liters.
