Yacht Club Adds Electric Boats to Fleet

Vantage Yacht Club Adds Sustainable Electric Boats to Its Rental Fleet.   Vantage Yacht Club, the premier fractional club offering shared yacht ownership and creator of the Yacht Card, announced additions to its Fleet Membership and Non-Member rental fleets today with the delivery of four electric Duffy Boats. Vantage Yacht Club is proud to announce this first electric boat initiative in Chicago as it continues to lead the evolution of the yachting lifestyle. Electric boaters will cruise the Chicago River taking in the sights and sounds of the city while promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability. These zero-emission electric boats are available to rent by-the-hour beginning April 1, 2012 from 8:00 am until midnight, seven days a week. The boats are enclosed with an overhead canopy and removable windows and will be rented throughout all four seasons. Edison Chouest Offshore locating shipbuilding operations, TopShip, LLC, in Gulfport, Miss.   Gov. Phil Bryant and officials from Edison Chouest Offshore, an offshore energy service and supply company, officially announced today the company is locating shipbuilding operations at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Miss. The project represents a $68 million corporate investment and will create 1,000 full-time jobs.

International Markets Keep Tidewater Earnings Strong

New Orleans-based Tidewater Inc. reported its second quarter earnings recently, citing improving rental rates throughout international markets. During the quarter that ended Sept. 30, Tidewater posted net earnings of $86.5m, or $1.56 per share. In the same period a year ago, the company reported net earnings of $104.2m, or $1.86 per share. HB Rentals Major Norway Contract & Fleet Investment

Offshore accommodation specialist HB Rentals has secured a contract for four modules offshore Norway and announced a significant investment in its fleet. HB Rentals has agreed a long-term lease contract with Prosafe to supply four 20 ft by 8 ft A60 Zone II Norsok office modules for the Valhall platform in a $385,600 deal. The company has invested a further $771,300 in a fleet of brand new 20 ft by 8 ft A60 Zone II Norsok compliant modules for use as offices
