OW Bunker Launches Physical Operations in New York

OW Bunker, international physical distributors and resellers of marine fuels, announced the launch of physical distribution operations in the ports of New York and New Jersey. The move follows the start of physical operations in Los Angeles and Long Beach this past March. With ports in New York and New Jersey, OW Bunker’s furthers its strategy in expanding its physical presence in key North America locations.   Adrian Tolson, General Manager, OW Bunker North America said, “The positive customer response to our physical operations in LA and Long Beach confirmed that there is a real demand for high value services in major ports throughout the US region. Launching physical distribution services in New York and New Jersey further strengthens our network of physical capabilities across North America, providing customers with adaptable and reliable services from East to West Coasts that help them to manage costs, ensure quality, and improve their operational efficiencies and performance.”   The company will provide customers with a range of products including RMG 380 (HSFO and LSFO), RMK 700, RMK 500 and LSMGO at all berths and anchorages in the area. OW Bunker will extend its relationship with barging company, Westoil Marine Services, which includes the charter of a double-hulled barge and additional barges will also be utilized as required.

ZF Marine Restructures East Coast Activities

ZF Marine LLC, the North American subsidiary of ZF Marine Group in Padova, Italy has implemented some changes to its East Coast service network. To better coordinate service activities up and down the Eastern Seaboard, ZF Marine LLC will now schedule all field service activities out of its South Florida service center in Miramar, FL.  Vessel owners requiring service support from ZF Marine can now dial 1-877-896-4040 and be connected to ZF Marine 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Imtech Marine Launches Service App

Horizon Marine adds Web Mapping Service to Eddy Watch

Horizon Marine has added a new Web Mapping Service (WMS) to its suite of web-based mapping products available to Eddy Watch subscribers. This new product allows clients to import Horizon Marine’s proprietary data into their own Geographic Information System (GIS). GE Aeroderivative Marine Gas Turbines Log more than 320,000 Service Hours

GE announced that its fleet of 25 aeroderivative marine gas turbines has accumulated more than 320,000 hours operating aboard 16 cruise ships. GE remains the only gas turbine manufacturer to have its engines in service on cruise ships, the company reported today at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention. "We are setting a new reliability standard in the cruise industry for propulsion and onboard power," said Karl Matson, general manager of GE Transportation's marine business, Evendale


Seaboard Marine Discontinues Joint Service With Kent Lines

Seaboard Marine Limited of Miami and Kent Line International Limited of Saint John, New Brunswick has announced they shall not be re-newing their partnership between Canada, Miami and the Caribbean. The last Sailing under joint arrangement is expected to be the Seaboard Toronto V1616 sailing from Saint John on March 27, 2001 and Miami, Florida on March 31, 2001. Seaboard will be deploying two vessels to replace the Kent Express and Kent Sprint in the rotation from Miami to Antigua
