Ulstein Verft to Finalise Color Hybrid

The hull of the 'Color Hybrid', European cruiseferry line Color Line's next flag ship that will be servicing Sandefjord-Strömstad, has arrived Ulstein Verft for completion.The ship is contracted by Color Line at Ulstein Verft and is scheduled for delivery Q2 2019, said a press release from the largest cruiseferry line operating on routes to and from Norway.The ship presents an increased capacity on the line between Norway and Sweden. The 'Color Hybrid' is the world’s largest plug-in hybrid ship, measuring 160 metres in length, and with a capacity of 2,000 passengers and about 500 cars. Ulstein Group is a family owned group of companies offering a wide range of ship designs, shipbuilding, equipment packages and maritime solutions.

FSG Newbuilding Northern Expedition

On Friday January 30, 2009 at approximately 9:00 a.m. a new cruiseferry for FSG`s Canadian customer British Columbia Ferry Services, Inc. (BC Ferries), will leave the Flensburger shipyard and start her voyage from Germany to British Columbia, Canada. The new 498 ft ship will accommodate 600 passengers and 130 vehicles. Among its many features, the Northern Expedition will offer 55 modern cabins for customers and an expanded range of food services and other amenities to delight local residents and tourists alike. The transfer voyage will take about 45 days.

On Friday January 30, 2009 a new cruise ferry from ’s Flensburger Shipyard built for British Columbia Ferry Service is scheduled to leave the yard for its journey to , . The ship, Northern Expedition, is 150 m long, capable of carrying 600 passengers and 130 vehicles. It offer 55 modern cabins for customers and an expanded range of food services and other amenities. The transfer voyage will take about 45 days, and the vessel most likely will stop for refueling in , Canary Islands, Cabo Verde, Curaçao and then transit the Panama Canal and sail up the west coast of North America to .

Cruise, Ferry and Naval Projects to Get Evac Systems

Scandinavian passenger ship operators have specified Evac vacuum toilet and waste treatment for their latest newbuildings from Aker Kvaerner group yards in Finland. The 33,000gt/1,800-passenger vessel ordered by Birka Line from Aker Finnyards - dubbed the ‘Floating Caribbean’ - is designed to set new standards of year-round cruising in the Baltic after delivery in autumn 2004. An extensive range of accommodation and amenities spread over eight decks of the 11-deck ship will include a whole deck dedicated to passenger recreation and a large Spa area decorated with palms.
