GE Global Research in Niskayuna announced it has entered into a $27 million partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy to design a next-generation offshore wind turbine. Nantucket Sound Cape Wind Energy Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) with regard to the proposed Cape Wind Energy Project on Horseshoe Shoal in Nantucket Sound. Texas Taking Bids on Offshore Wind Leases

The Texas General Land Office is accepting bids for the right to produce energy in the Gulf of Mexico. This is the first time in the U.S. that leases for offshore wind production are being put in a competitive bid process. The bids must be received no later than Oct. 2.
