Celebrity Cruises Selects James P. Colie & Assoc. for Major Refit of Zenith

August 17, 1999

In one of the largest interior renovation projects in the history of James P. Colie & Associates, the company announced it will refurbish several large and luxurious public spaces on Zenith for Celebrity Cruises during a drydocking at Newport News Shipbuilding in October 1999. James P. Colie & Associates will be the turnkey contractor for the Zenith refit project, managing all aspects such as structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fabrication and the fine interior outfitting details. The areas to be refurbished include the AquaSpa, Cova Café and adjacent Cova Shop, Windsurf Café, Martini Bar, Michael's Club, library, card room, art gallery for Park West at Sea, gift shop, Rendez-Vous Square, disco/DJ club and upgrading all shops. More than 200 workers and several subcontractors are being scheduled for the project that will include a two week drydock and work in-service. The current library and card room will be converted into a new Martini Bar, gift shop and art gallery for Park West at Sea. The Martini Bar is a new concept in lounges, specializing in a variety of martini recipes, lending a new twist to the traditional cocktail. James P. Colie & Associates will perform a complete refit to one of the ship's cafes. In its place will be an all-new Cova Café and adjacent Cova Shop, a popular new area the company has built on several Celebrity ships to offer espresso, coffee drinks and fine Cova Chocolates. In the fall of 1998, James P. Colie & Associates proved its expertise and experience during a similar refit of Horizon which involved several of the same areas of the ship including the spa, shops, dining rooms and lounges.
