UK Ocean Technologies Expo Biggest Yet

Ocean Business 2013 at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton will welcome 300+ worldwide companies to its upcomeng show. One of the most exciting elements of the show is that visitors can actually see equipment in action and ‘test-drive’ products before they purchase. This year’s Ocean Business is running an unmissable programme of free training and demonstrations, running over 180 hours where leading companies will introduce new products, technologies and techniques. As Ocean Business takes place at Southampton’s National Oceanography Centre, the facilities are first class and demonstrations can take place on vessels, at the dockside, in test tanks or seminar rooms.

Strong Response to New Sub-Sea Pipeline Leak Detection System

Chelsea Technologies Group announced this week a significant increase in both sale and rental contracts for the 2011 Model Sub-Sea Pipeline Leak Detection System. The PLD system now includes the provision of digital output on all fluorimeters  operating these systems, and alignment of power requirements allowing easy integration to common ROV platforms. Systems are now on offer for both shallow (ROV mounted and diver held) and full ocean depth operations. SeaSoar Towed Vehicle for UTM in Spain

Chelsea Technologies Group has recently sold a SeaSoar Towed Undulating System to the UTM CSIC in Spain. UTM required a towed vehicle with capability of undulating down to depths of 500 metres. The SeaSoar was chosen for this reasons, as well as for its ability to provide a flexible payload allowing UTM to mount a range of instrumentation. The SeaSoar was fitted with a Seabird Electronics SBE 911 CTD, with dual C and T sensors fitted each side of the SeaSoar.
