Geoquip Names Turner CEO

Geotechnical data acquisition company Geoquip Marine appointed Richard Turner as its new Chief Executive Officer with former CEO Stewart Higginson moving to the role of Executive Chairperson. Existing Chairperson, Peter Østergaard Nielsen will remain on the Geoquip Marine board as a Non-Executive Director.Turner has considerable experience as a CEO and specifically of the offshore energy sector. He joins Geoquip Marine from British Engines, where he was also CEO. Prior to this Richard served as President and CEO of JDR Cable Systems.

Nexans Celebrates Construction of Aurora Cable Installation Vessel

On October 15, 2019, Nexans hosted the grand block ceremony that represented a key step in the construction of its ground-breaking cable installation vessel, the ‘Nexans Aurora’. The vessel’s hull  is currently being built at the CRIST shipyard in Poland. It will be completed at Ulstein Verft in Norway, with delivery planned for 2021.The grand blocks are the major components in the construction of the hull. Aker Sees Robust Demand Following Q2 2013 Slip

Aker Solutions generated revenue of NOK 11.9 billion in the second quarter of 2013, compared with NOK 11.9 billion in the second quarter of 2012. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to NOK 946 million in the quarter, compared with NOK 1.36 billion in the year-earlier period. The EBITDA margin was 7.9 percent in the quarter, compared with 11.4 percent a year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) were NOK 0.44 in the quarter, down from NOK 2.50 a year earlier. The order intake was NOK 10.9 billion in the quarter, compared with NOK 12 billion a year earlier. The prior-year figure excludes a Category B rig contract of NOK 11 billion that was cancelled in June. The order backlog was NOK 59.8 billion at the end of the quarter.

2H Offshore Names Jewell and Ha Directors, London Office

2H Offshore Inc., an Acteon company, has named Glen Jewell and Hanh Ha as additional directors of its London office. The roles came into effect at the start of 2013. Jewell and Ha will join John McGrail and Alex Rimmer and will share responsibility for the management of the engineering activities and the continued success and development of the business. Ha’s primary activity sector will be flexible riser, flowline and umbilical engineering, and Jewell’s focus will be drilling and production risers and conductor systems.

Technip Awarded GofM Subsea Contract

Technip wins a lump sum contract for development of subsea infrastructure for the Cardamom field located in the Gulf of Mexico, Garden Banks block 427. The field is at a water depth of approximately 830 meters, and the project consists of a subsea tie-back to the Auger tension leg platform, wholly owned by Shell Offshore Inc. The contract covers the project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of the East and West Loop 12.8 kilometer pipe-in-pipe flowlines with associated PLETs and steel catenary risers. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas will perform the overall project management. The flowlines and risers will be welded at Technip’s spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama.

Subsea Umbilical Frame Agreement

Aker Solutions has signed a frame agreement with Shell Norway and Shell U.K. Limited for the supply of subsea umbilicals. The contract is awarded for one year with an option to extend it an additional 12 months. The award means that Aker Solutions will be the preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals for projects in the North Sea that are managed by Shell's Norwegian and UK operations. Aker Solutions has held similar frame agreements with Shell UK since 2001. "We have delivered several well-functioning umbilical systems to Shell already. Aker Kvaerner Signs Agreement with Woodside

Aker Kvaerner has signed a frame agreement with Woodside Petroleum Ltd to become the Australian oil and gas giant's preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals. The contract could be worth between NOK 150 - 200 million annually. The frame agreement is awarded for a three year period with optional periods of one + one year and has the potential to support Woodside Petroleum Ltd with its proposed LNG developments. The agreement will make Aker Kvaerner's subsea division the main supplier of steel tube umbilicals to Woodside's field developments off the western coast of Australia. As part of the contract, Aker Kvaerner will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, testing, certification, delivery and installation support of the umbilical systems.
