Total Marine Fuels announce the appointment of chemical engineer Anna Whitehouse as managing director

Total Marine Fuels has appointed Anna Whitehouse as managing director, succeeding Christophe Girardot who has held the position for the past 4 years.

Ms Whitehouse is a chemical engineer and has spent 25 years working in the petroleum industry, including 20 years within the Total group holding various positions in France, the UK and abroad. A company statement says that her 10 years experience in Asia, working mainly in the lubricants and retail businesses, will help her develop Total Marine Fuels in that region.

“Today,” says Ms Whitehouse, “Total Marine Fuels has several faces. In Europe our aim is to market bunker fuels produced by the European refineries of the Total group including Le Havre, Donges, Fos/Lavera and Antwerp. We can offer attractive supply contracts and spot prices on all kind of grades from the regular FO 380 & MGO to low-sulphur FO380 and high viscosity fuels FO500 and FO700 in all the French ports and strategic ARA ports thanks to our chartered ships and storage capacities.

Total currently has a presence in more than 40 ports in Africa and the Indian Ocean which are backed by a network of local affiliates and including participation in local refineries. The company also has one bunker tanker off Senegal and another based at Port-Louis, Mauritius.

Our Singapore office is the hub for our relations with the Asian shipowners, and also markets our availabilities in the Pacific islands such as Fiji, Noumea, and Papeete."
