Kongsberg Maritime won two contracts for the delivery of ASSETT Engineering and Operator Training Simulators for the Valhall and Ula-Tambar fields in Norway. The simulators will be delivered in 2006. And
will be integrated with the ABB Safety and Automation System.
"ASSETT enables our customers to optimize their production and train their operators for these conditions,"
said Sales Manager for Process Simulation in Norway, Chris Ruigrok of Kongsberg.
Pål Fister and Kristin Vennes, project leaders for Valhall and Ula simulator projects at BP Norway comment that: "BP's intentions with the Ula and Valhall dynamic simulators are to provide benefits including: Improved operator competency/training, production optimization, development/testing of new ideas/modifications and training prior to installation, and testing of new control logic prior to installation."
