Stena Continues Ferry Upgrades with SPS Overlay

Friday, June 13, 2008

This repair to the Stena Transfer is the seventh SPS Overlay project completed for Stena Line since 2002.
Over 650m of the Stena Transfer’s main deck, tweendeck and shelter deck were reinstated using SPS Overlay.  Unlike disruptive ‘crop and replace’ techniques, SPS Overlay is non-intrusive, the existing structure remained intact and the insulation, piping and services untouched. This contributed to significant schedule savings and to getting the Stena Transfer back in service quickly.
