On Tuesday, November 25, Damen Shipyards Gorinchem was awarded the Heineken Trophy, an initiative by the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce.

The Trophy was presented to Erik van der Noordaa, COO of the Damen Shipyards Group, by Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chairman and CEO of Heineken. In the presence of the British Ambassador the prize was awarded to Damen as a result of an increasing level of export of vessels to the United Kingdom over a sustained period of time.

Damen credits its organizational structure and its smaller and larger vessels that accommodate a wide group of customers, either being privately or government owned companies. The award is an exchange trophy sculptured by silversmith John Wilmin.
