ASNE will Remember Geiger, Naval Leader

ASNE Naval Logistics Symposium will include a memorial tribute to Clifford G. Geiger, Jr. Geiger was a former ASNE Vice President, longtime leader of the ASNE Logistics Committee and ASNE Gold Medal Award Winner who passed away on January 12, 2009.

Geiger had a long and distinguished career in federal service with the U.S. Navy. Widely regarded for his expertise in the field of logistics; he rose to the highest rank for career executives and his positions included Senior Acquisition Logistician in the Naval Material Command, Deputy Commander for Fleet Logistics Support in the Naval Sea Systems Command and Assistant and Acting Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Logistics.

The ASNE Naval Logistics Symposium: Logistics in Support of the Joint Maritime Strategy will be held July 20-22, 2009, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va. The tribute to Geiger will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Registration is not required for this portion of the program.
