Conrad Announces Contract Award

Conrad Industries, Inc. announced the award of an $8.9 million contract by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The contract award calls for the design and construction of a 144-foot, 3300 HP, ABS-Classed welded steel towboat. When delivered, the vessel's primary mission will be the support of the MAT Sinking Unit revetment operations on the Mississippi River for the Vicksburg District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Johnny Conrad, Conrad's President and CEO commented, "We are excited about the opportunity to continue our working relationship with the Corps of Engineers. This award demonstrates the Corps' satisfaction with our work and confidence in our ability to timely deliver high quality, cost effective vessels. After an extended design phase, production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2005."
