Conrad Industries, Inc. announced the award of an $8.9 million contract
by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The contract award calls for the design and construction of a 144-foot, 3300 HP, ABS-Classed welded steel towboat. When delivered, the vessel's primary mission will be the support of the MAT Sinking Unit revetment operations on the Mississippi River for the Vicksburg District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

After an extended design phase, production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2005."
