Danos & Curole has been awarded the 2008 Houma District Production Contractor SAFE Award by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS). In addition, the company was also named as a finalist for the 2008 MMS National Production Contractor SAFE Award.

Since the inception of the program in 1983, Danos & Curole was the recipient of the National SAFE Award three years and has received numerous district awards. On an individual level, Hank Danos (CEO), Michael Bradshaw (Safety Director) and Gene Barfield (Safety Services Director) are all recipients of the MMS Corporate Leadership Award (CORLA).

“The MMS Gulf of Mexico Region is focused on having the safest and most environmentally sound operations on the Outer Continental Shelf,” said MMS Regional Director Lars Herbst. “We take great pride in recognizing those companies that choose to be safety and environmental leaders, setting the example for others to follow.”

The SAFE Awards recognize outstanding safety and pollution prevention performance by the offshore industry in four categories: drilling contractor, production contractor, high activity operator, and moderate activity operator. SAFE Award candidates at the National level are screened through a twostep process comprised of statistical analysis and in-depth meetings involving MMS Headquarters, Regional, and District personnel to determine a company’s overall performance on the OCS.

These prestigious awards have been presented annually since 1983, making this the longest continuous Federal awards programs of its kind. Both the national and district awards recognize and commend companies that expend extra effort to conduct operations in a safe and pollution-free manner by adhering to all regulations, employing trained and motivated personnel, and going the extra mile to enhance safety and environmental protection. The objectives of the program are to elevate awareness of safety and pollution prevention, encourage voluntary compliance, provide the public with a better understanding of the professionalism of OCS operators and demonstrate that safe practices enhance protection of personnel.

Danos & Curole is a worldwide progressive oilfield service company providing service in the areas of construction, fabrication, production personnel, painting and blasting, safety professionals and a wide range of consultants.
