IBIA Strengthens Management

Thursday, August 23, 2001
The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has strengthened its management team and is to improve services to members with the appointment of two full time staff members. Ian Adams has been appointed as Secretary General and Ruth Croker has been appointed as Administrator. IBIA chairman Chris Leigh-Jones says, "IBIA is right at the heart of the bunker industry and with a full time professional secretariat we can improve services right across the board." Adams is an ex-seagoing engineer, who has worked in global engineering sales with major component suppliers to the shipping industry. "I welcome the challenge of building up the member services of IBIA," says Adams. "The bunker industry is very international, very diverse, and I intend to ensure that IBIA is its global hub." Croker has a background in recruitment, training and consultancy and will work with Adams from IBIA's Baltic Exchange office.
