Kivett Elected to Crowley Board

Earl Kivett was elected to Crowley Maritime Corporation's board of directors at the company's annual meeting held March 27 in Oakland. In addition, each of the other members of the board was elected to another term by the company's shareholders. Kivett, 54, retired from Bain & Company, the international management consulting firm, at the end of 2001 after nearly 23 years of service. His past experiences include serving as a member of Bain and Company's worldwide Board of Directors from 1989 through 2001, and serving clients in a variety of industrial and consumer industries, both in North America and abroad. His work has included corporate and business unit strategy development as well as cost and performance improvement in operations for clients in the steel, aluminum, oil and gas, and shipping industries. The emphasis of work performed for these clients was identifying new growth opportunities in generally slow growth environments.
