Liferaft Servicing Intervals

The U.S. Coast Guard is amending its regulations relating to requirements for servicing of inflatable liferafts and inflatable buoyant apparatus carried on U.S. vessels. The first servicing for new devices will be deferred for two years after initial packing on all commercial vessels not certificated under SOLAS. The rule comes into effect on September 30, 2002.
