Orion Awarded Contract

Orion Construction L.P., Houston, Texas, was awarded on Sept. 30, 2003, an $8,743,850 firm-fixed-price contract for offshore and inshore Bird Islands. Work will be performed in Jasper, S.C., and is expected to be completed by March 30, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on June 6, 2003, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Savannah, Ga. is the contracting activity (DACW21-03-C-0013).
