Tank Level Rule Making Suspended

The U.S. Coast Guard is suspending, for at least three years, its rulemaking regarding tank level or pressure monitoring devices on single-hull tank vessels. No technology has been identified that will reliability provide accurate and meaningful data regarding fluid levels in large liquid cargo tanks on ships at sea in order to provide early warning of leaks from those tanks. Comments on this action should be submitted by September 19. 70 Fed. Reg. 41614 (HK Law)
