International oil and gas service specialist HSOG has joined forces with the Chowgule Group, a multi-industrial International conglomerate, to offer a full range of maintenance and modification services to the offshore sector to service the international market.

HSOG will now offer services to the world offshore market from the Chowgule Groups newly built Lavgan Dockyard, situated midway between Mumbai and Goa on the west coast of India.

The $200m shipyard development has been completed over the last five years, and offers full Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) repair capability from a range of sheltered deep-water quays off the Arabian Sea.

The yard has a range of deep-water quays, associated workshops and also includes a newly constructed 10,000 metric ton Rolls Royce synchrolift with six supported repair berths.

Andrew Boardman, CEO of HSOG, said, “This is a truly significant milestone for the world offshore market allowing the service of offshore assets in the Indian subcontinent in a purpose built facility.  We are proud to be joining with The Chowgule Group in this exciting venture.”

Vijay Chowgule, Chairman of The Chowgule Group, said, “The Chowgule Group continues to advance, contributing immensely to the socio-economic development of Goa and India.  “We are pleased that the construction of the Lavgan Shipyard and our agreements with HSOG facilitate the development of the world offshore maintenance market in the India subcontinent.”

HSOG is a specialist service provider to the oil, gas, offshore and shipping industries, with the aim of minimizing downtime and maximizing uptime for clients around the world.

The company has quickly established a global network of country offices, MODU Service Hubs and facilities.

The Chowgule Group is almost 100 years old and, during this time, has burgeoned into an industrial empire. Today, Chowgule is at the center of India’s industrial output and export.
