Eletson chooses Seagull Training Solution

January 21, 2004

Eletson Corporation has selected Seagull to provide Computer Based Training for their vessels. Eletson will implement an extensive Computer Based Training (CBT) library fleetwide. With this key implementation and those of existing Greek clients, Seagull Computer Based Training (CBT) is set to become standard within the Greek shipping community. Stating his support for Seagull's training solutions, Eletson Corporation Training Manager and Company Security Officer, Mike McCabe said, "after thorough evaluation, Seagull's onboard training system was found to meet Eletson's high quality requirements and enforces our blended learning training program. The Security information will assist in raising our seafarers awareness to this high profile topic". Eletson Corporation owns and operates one of the world's largest fleets of medium and long-range product tankers. This young fleet, with ships delivered in 1989 or later, consists of 24 double hull tankers sailing under the Greek flag. Seagull’s Ship Security Course Package allows all crew, including Ship Security Officers, to be trained onboard in compliance with the ISPS Security Code regulations taking effect in 2004. All training activities can be managed conveniently onboard or on shore through the Seagull Training Administrator. The full Seagull training course package includes three CBT courses and the SSO course workbook: Security Awareness (CBT #115); Ship Security Officer (CBT #121); Ship Security Officer Workbook; Automatic Identification System (CBT #109).
