Foster Wheeler's subsidiary awarded contract by LNG Canada

Foster Wheeler AG (Nasdaq:FWLT) announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, in joint venture with affiliates of Chiyoda Corporation, Saipem S.p.A. and WorleyParsons Limited (“CFSW JV”), has been awarded a contract by LNG Canada Development Inc. (“LNG Canada”) for the provision of front-end engineering design (“FEED”) and project execution services for a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project, known as the LNG Canada Project, in Kitimat, British Columbia. The contract value was not disclosed. Foster Wheeler’s portion of the FEED phase will be included in the company’s second-quarter 2014 bookings.

Statkraft, Norfund Agree to Further Cooperation

Statkraft and Norfund have signed an agreement expressing their intention to restructure and prolong their cooperation within renewable energy. The aim, they said, is to create a leading international hydropower cluster, based on assets from Statkraft, SN Power and Agua Imara. The parties have agreed with binding effect that Norfund's option to sell its shares in SN Power to Statkraft in Q4 2013 is postponed to Q2 2014. The agreement contains the framework for future ownership structure and cooperation. The aim is to reach final and binding agreements by the end of Q4 2013, prolonging the companies' strategic cooperation in renewable energy with a strong focus on hydropower in emerging markets.

GL Noble Denton Opens Office in Trinidad

Technical service provider for the oil and gas industry GL Noble Denton has opened an office in Port of Spain. With upstream and midstream capabilities across the complete asset lifecycle, GL Noble Denton already provides international oil majors, independent operators and E&C companies in the region with technical design, consulting, assurance and execution services. Trinidad's economy is strongly influenced by the petroleum industry. Trinidad is the leading Caribbean producer of oil and gas; petroleum, petrochemicals and natural gas continue to be the backbone of the economy. In 2008, the country produced 165,420 barrels per day (bbl/d) of total oil production, of which 114,280 bbl/d was crude oil, the remainder mostly consisting of natural gas liquids (NGLs).

Emerson Opens Marine and Offshore Engineering Center in Oslo

Emerson Process Management announces the opening of a new engineering center in , responsible for providing front end engineering services and project management expertise to the marine and offshore industry. The centre will build on experiences gained from hundreds of offshore installations to provide innovative installations that reduce the time and cost to first oil and improve the performance on board. Marine and offshore projects will be designed and coordinated along developed M&O standards and procedures, by the office, so as to benefit from the experience learned from similar projects.
