Government Required Maritime Security Training Programs Now Available in Video Tape for Ports and S

SeaSecure LLC, has created, in partnership with Moxie Media, the first comprehensive ISPS Code and MTSA-compliant maritime security training program designed specifically for seaports and shipping companies to meet both US and international regulatory requirements. SeaSecure, a global leader in maritime security and counter-terrorism consulting, co-developed the 11 video (or DVD) training program with Moxie Media, one of the United States’ largest producers and distributors of training and safety programs. “As a result of the terror attacks of 9/11, the United Nations and the United States established requirements that port and ship personnel all receive specific maritime security training”, Petersen said in a press conference.

Miami Mega-Yacht Marina Selects SeaSecure

Flagstone Property Group was awarded the rights to develop a mega-yacht marina on Miami’s Watson Island by the City of Miami. Mehmet Bayraktar, Chairman and CEO of Flagstone, has said that the project will be completed by the end of 2006. In addition to the super yacht marina, Island Gardens will also include two high-rise hotel towers including fractional residences, a maritime gallery, restaurants, retail shops, and cultural facilities. Once completed, the Island Gardens project will employ more than 1,500 employees. In Miami, Joseph Herndon, Project Director with Flagstone stated that, “Flagstone selected SeaSecure due to their outstanding reputation and the level of experience and expertise found in their consulting and engineering departments.

SeaSecure and RiskWatch Create First Seaport & Shipping Security Risk Assessment Software

SeaSecure LLC and RiskWatch, Inc., announced a joint development project to create the first comprehensive maritime risk assessment software tool for seaport and shipping security, RiskWatch SHARK® or RiskWatch for Seaport & Shipping Antiterrorism Risk. RiskWatch SHARK (RW-SHARK) will have immediate applicability in assessing physical, personnel, and information security programs at U.S. and international seaports, as well as within the shipping industry for both carriers and cruise lines. Seaports are potentially one of the most vulnerable areas of homeland security, and the standardization that RW-SHARK provides will make it possible to benchmark information about security and provide instant snapshots on how seaports are complying with current security guidelines.
