LD Lines Newbuild with Turnkey Works

Almaco was contracted to deliver a complete turnkey project for cabins, corridors, galley, provision stores and refrigeration machinery for the latest newbuilding ferry vessel being built at Singapore Technologies Marine's shipyard for Louis Dreyfus Armateurs' subsidiary LD Lines. The contract was signed in November 2008 and the project is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2010. Almaco’s Accommodation Systems division will deliver a full turnkey for 226 Cabins and Corridors on both passenger and crew decks. The scope of supply includes design, supply of material, assembly, installation onboard and all background works such as ducting, piping, insulation, electrical. The design and standards of the cabins are of higher quality than those offered in earlier vessels.

IZAR Delivers For Stena

Stena Line announced that its brand new ferry Stena Hollandica entered service in the Hook of Holland-Harwich route. In October 2000 Stena Line had already introduced her sister ship Stena Britannica. According to the shipowning company, the Stena Britannica has already proved its value on this Hook of Holland-Harwich route. The Stena Hollandica was built at the IZAR Puerto Real yard, as well as the Stena Britannica and the first and second in series, Finneagle and Finnclipper, operated by the Finnish owner Finnlines. In the last three years, IZAR Puerto Real has delivered seven RoRo and passenger ferry vessels, totaling an output over 225,000 gt. The yard has become the world's number one builder of RoRo and passenger ferries.

IZAR Takes Lead in RoPax Market

IZAR, the new Spanish shipbuilding consortium formed with the combination of the former Astilleros Españoles and Bazan, has delivered to Stena Line its brand new ferry Stena Hollandica, which entered service in the Hook of Holland-Harwich route. Stena Hollandica was built at the IZAR Puerto Real yard, as well as the Stena Britannica and the first and second in series, Finneagle and Finnclipper, operated by the Finnish owner Finnlines.
