Corporation has chosen Hyperion to provide a consolidated planning and
reporting system for its Maritime Systems
and Sensors (MS2) group.
A solution combining Hyperion's Business Intelligence Platform
Business Performance Management application -- Hyperion Planning -- will unify
financial planning and reporting across MS2's multiple lines of business.
Previously, MS2 had different ledgers, data systems and processes operating in
more than half a dozen locations in the United States, which made rolling up
its planning and reporting time-consuming and inefficient. The new system will
draw data from multiple applications -- SAP, PeopleSoft and Microsoft, among
others -- and provide an integrated solution for planning and reporting.
Lockheed Martin will utilize Hyperion to deliver dashboards and targeted
reports to more than 1,000 users at Lockheed Martin.
"It's critical for us to be able to deliver dynamic planning and reporting
within our business, which is geographically dispersed across multiple
locations. The integrated system will enable us to leverage our resources more
efficiently and provide real-time financial visibility," said Fred Airhart,
finance manager for Lockheed Martin. "We needed a software provider that would
sign on as a genuine partner as we aggressively transform our systems and
processes for planning and reporting. We chose Hyperion because it's a market
leader with proven capabilities and commitment to their customers."
Hyperion's easy to deploy and use dashboards provide users with a visual
summary of key business data, with the ability to drill down deep into the
underlying data fueling their dashboards to gain critical insight into the
metrics that ultimately drive performance.

Lockheed Martin has begun a phased implementation that will go live in
January 2005 with additional enhancements into 2006.
