ASRY All in on Project Jupiter

Project Jupiter, an initiative to create a leading portfolio of Onsite Specialist Contractors, sees ABB, SOLAS, Seven Seas and more invest $3.7m at Bahrain-based ASRY in 2014, with more in the pipeline. ASRY has seen several global specialist contractors, including ABB, SOLAS, and Seven Seas increase their investment at the shipyard to provide more substantial services to ship and rig owners over the course of 2014. ASRY, ABB Industries Sign Agreement

Ship and rig repair specialist ASRY reports that it has signed a co-operation agreement with ABB Industries (LLC), Dubai, a division of ABB Turbocharging, a leader in the manufacture and maintenance of turbochargers for two-stroke and four-stroke engines for various types of vessels. The agreement will see ABB open a new workshop in ASRY, provide international factory warranties from ASRY, and provide onsite accessibility for ASRY customers to ABB’s worldwide Service Network.

Dresser-Rand to Supply For Statoil Platform

Dresser-Rand will supply gas export compression equipment for Statoil's Troll A platform in the North Sea. The equipment, approaching $8 million, is being purchased by ABB AS Offshore Systems and will be supplied under the terms of D-R's frame contract with Statoil. D-R will provide two DATUM centrifugal compressors driven by 40 MW electric motors to the main contractor ABB AS Offshore Systems. The motors, purchased by Statoil directly from ABB Industries will be shipped to the module manufacturing yard in Norway and connected to the compressor packages under supervision of D-R and ABB. D-R's LeHavre, France, facility will provide the DATUM compressors. Delivery is scheduled for September 2003, with the equipment expected to go online in May 2005.
