Swiss marine power company WinGD has signed a memorandum of understanding with KSS Line to explore X-DF-A engines for future newbuild projects. The companies will focus on 52cm- and 62cm-bore versions of the dual-fuel ammonia engines, suitable for midsize and very large gas carriers (VLGC). WinGD to Deliver Ammonia Engines in 2025
Swiss marine power company WinGD is on track to deliver its first X-DF-A dual-fuel ammonia engines by the first quarter of 2025, with the first X-DF-A powered vessels in service from 2026.The confirmation follows combustion tests at WinGD research facilities in December 2022 and is backed by concrete orders. MISC Group, WinGD Ink Deal on Ammonia Engines
Malaysia's MISC Group signed an agreement to develop ammonia engines for ships, marking a step towards zero-emission shipping operations, the company said.MISC-owned AET and Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) have signed an agreement with WinGD to develop engines for ammonia dual-fuelled vessels, a first for deep-sea vessels, MISC said in a statement.ALAM also signed an agreement with shipping classification society DNV for the training, research and development of maritime professionals to meet workforce needs for a low- and zero-carbon pathway.

Transas: New Anti-Piracy Training Solution
In response to still pressing piracy threat off the coast of Somaila, Transas has developed an Anti-Piracy solution that will support maritime schools in performing relevant training. The Transas Anti-Piracy package consists of a mothership, a smaller mothership and four fastboats with different speeds. The look of all vessels is typically 'pirate': badly maintained and rusty. The fastboats have four different visual states that can be triggered during running exercise to increase the threat by escalation levels from 'fisher' to 'agressive pirate' state.
Transas Presents its Crisis Management System in Malaysia
Transas Marine Pacific was invited to present its state-of-the-art Crisis Management System – PISCES - at one of Malaysia’s most important professional forums. A Marine Environmental Conservation Course under the auspices of the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Program was convened at country's premier maritime education and training institution - Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) - from June 17 to 30, 2007. Twenty delegates from the Yemen, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Tonga, Timor & the Philippines represented a wide cross-section of government bodies. Coastguard personnel, biologists, researchers and ecological managers attended the event. Capt.
