Kongsberg Maritime Introduces New Training Course

New course uses flexible ‘training in a box’ approach. With over 80 orders already taken for its sophisticated K-Master aft- and forward-bridge workstation, Kongsberg Maritime has completed development and the pilot course for a specialised training course designed to enable offshore support vessel crew to enhance operational safety and efficiency using this sophisticated control solution. The course is now part of Kongsberg Maritime’s growing global training portfolio. KMSS Holds Users’ Conference

Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems (KMSS) held its 15th Annual Simulation Users’ Conference (UC-2002) in Tonsberg, Norway on June 16-21. UC-2002 was held in conjunction with the Vestfold University College and over 100 participants attended the five-day conference, of which 75 percent were KMSS customer delegates. The implementation of e-Learning in maritime education was the main focus of UC-2002 and participants were presented with an overflowing itinerary consisting of presentations, papers, workshops and social events, all of which proved a resounding success. As part of the conference KMSS presented an e-education workshop. This involved the demonstration of a suite of advanced training and e-learning tools that are set to transform the processes involved in maritime training.
