Officers Elected at Port of Greater Baton Rouge

The board of commissioners for the Port of Greater Baton Rouge recently elected officers for 2014. Officers elected include Blaine Sheets, Ascension Parish, president; Clint Seneca, Iberville Parish, vice president; Corey Sarullo, Iberville Parish, secretary; and Bobby Watts, East Baton Rouge, treasurer. Blaine Sheets, president, is president of Specialized Industrial Maintenance in Gonzales and is a former member of the Board of Commissioners for the Pontchartrain Levee District. Clint Seneca, vice president, is the chief deputy assessor for the Iberville Parish Assessor's Office.

DOJ: Vessel Operator Admits Pollution

United States Attorney Donald J. Cazayoux, Jr., announced that, yesterday, CLEOPATRA SHIPPING AGENCY, LTD., a Greek vessel management company, pled guilty to violating the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships and was sentenced to pay a $300,000 fine and serve a three-year term of probation requiring implementation of an environmental compliance program. U.S. District Judge James J. Brady ordered that $150,000 of the fine be awarded to the CLEOPATRA employee who reported the violation to the United States Coast Guard. In pleading guilty, CLEOPATRA agreed to the following facts.

The board of commissioners for the Port of Greater Baton Rouge recently elected officers for 2009. Officers elected include Alvin Dragg, Ascension, president; Raymond Loup, West Baton Rouge, vice president; Jerald Juneau, East Baton Rouge, treasurer; and Larry Johnson, West Baton Rouge, secretary. Dragg, who was elected president, represents Ascension Parish on the board of commissioners and has served two terms as president previously over the past two decades. He is a life-long resident of Gonzales and is a former Entergy Corporation executive.
