Another 2 Keppel FELS Rigs for Mexico

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has delivered two jackup rigs to Mexican company, Grupo R. Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B Class design, the rigs, CANTARELL I and CANTARELL II, will be chartered to PEMEX, Mexico's national oil company, for operations in the Cantarell oil field in offshore Mexico. They are the first two of five jackup rigs that Keppel FELS is building for Grupo R. Mr Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director of Keppel O&M (Offshore) and Keppel FELS, said, "We are pleased to deliver another two rigs in 2016 to our quality client Grupo R. Despite the current low oil price environment, the market continues to prefer safe and efficient rigs with a proven track record like our KFELS B Class.

Malaccan Ports to Become Specialised Hubs

Plans are underway to convert seven Malaccan ports into specialized hubs for various sectors to spur the state's economic development, reports the Star. The Malacca Port Development Masterplan is expected to increase investments and economic activity by creating jobs in the manufacturing, tourism and industrial sectors. Malacca Transport and Project Rehabilitation Committee chairman Datuk Lim Ban Hong said the project under the Malacca Port Development Masterplan entailed upgrading six existing ports besides building the Malacca Gateway Port. More Keppel FELS Jackup Rigs for Mexico

Keppel FELS Limited , a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), is on track to deliver three KFELS B Class jackup rigs to Mexican company, Grupo R, safely, on time and on budget. A world's first triple rig naming ceremony was held today at Keppel FELS' yard with Mr Chan Chun Sing, Singapore's Minister in Prime Minister's Office and Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress as the Guest of Honour. Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B Class design, the three identical rigs were named CANTARELL I, CANTARELL II and CANTARELL III, after the Cantarell oil field in offshore Mexico. They are the first three of five rigs that Keppel FELS is building for Grupo R.

Keppel FELS Delivers 11th Jackup to Mexico

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has delivered a KFELS B Class jackup rig to Mexican national oil company, Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), safely, on time and on budget. The rig was named Kukulkan by Lady Sponsor Mrs Valerie Pahl-Hernandez, wife of Mr Gustavo Hernandez Garcia, Director General of PEMEX Exploration & Production, at a ceremony at Keppel FELS this evening. Kukulkan is the second jackup rig Keppel has built directly for PEMEX.

Wärtsilä, Diesel United Renew Pact

Wärtsilä and Diesel United Ltd in Japan have signed a ten-year renewal of their co-operation agreement for the sale, manufacturing and servicing of Wärtsilä low-speed marine engines. Diesel United is a long-standing member of the Wärtsilä family of low-speed engine licensees. The renewal was signed on the 66th anniversary of the signing of the licence by Diesel United for Sulzer low-speed marine engines on 4 October 1948. This has been Diesel United's sole licence for low-speed two-stroke diesel engines throughout the years since then.

Otto Marine Wins Two AHTS Construction Contracts

Singapore headquartered Otto Marine to build two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels for an Indonesian operator. The new shipbuilding contracts, with a total value of US$27.8 million are for constructing two identical units of 5,150 bhp Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (or AHTS). The two AHTS will be approximately 62 meters in length and will be constructed to meet ABS class requirements. The contracts were awarded by an un-named Indonesian operator that owns and operates a fleet of offshore and other vessels. The vessels are to be delivered in the second half of 2014. Mr Michael See, Group Chief Financial Officer, said: “During the last year or so, we focused our resources under our shipbuilding segment towards finishing and delivering the orders that were on hand.
