Foremost Takes Delivery of Ting May

New York City-based privately-held, family-run shipping company announced that it has taken delivery of a new 85,004 metric tons deadweight post-Panamax bulk carrier, the M/V Ting May. American dry bulk shipping company informed that the ship builds upon Foremost Group's tradition of operating a fleet of modern, environmentally-friendly ships built to the company's stringent specifications.This newest Eco-friendly post-Panamax ship will be immediately put in service for Bunge Limited, the ship’s charterer, which will deploy the ship to transport its dry-bulk cargoes to ports around the world according to its requirements.Consistent with industry practice in which the overwhelming majority of dry bulk ships are built in Asia…

Bahri Rolls Out BahriBunge Dry Bulk

Following the announcement of the joint venture agreement by Bahri, a global leader in transportation and logistics, and Koninklijke Bunge, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bunge Limited, a global agribusiness and food company, the two companies recently inaugurated the offices of BahriBunge Dry Bulk Ltd. in Dubai, UAE. In celebration of the occasion and reveal of the new company’s logo, Mr. Abdulrahman M. Al-Mofadhi, Chairman of Bahri hosted a special ceremony at Burj Al Arab in the presence of several Bahri board members, top industry high-level executives, representatives from Bunge, heads of Bahri’s business units, in addition to a number of officials representing major multinational companies.

New Joint Venture Formed to Operate Bulk Carriers

Augustea Bunge Maritime Limited ("ABML") a joint venture company of Augustea Atlantica S.p.A. and Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG), has announced the formation of a new joint venture with York Capital Management The new company, ABY Holding Limited ("ABY"), will operate an independent fleet of ocean-going dry-bulk vessels. The Malta-based venture intends to grow through the acquisition and chartering of modern ships. The ABY fleet currently includes two ships that are in-service, the ABML Eva (106,000 dwt, built in 2012) and the ABML Grace (172,000 dwt, built in 2002). ABY also owns three additional ships that are under construction at Japanese shipyards.

Quintana Prices Bunge Charters for 2009 at $21,800 Per Day

Quintana Maritime Limited has secured fourteen Kamsarmaxes and three Panamaxes, which were acquired from Metrobulk, under its master time charter with Bunge S.A. for 2009 at an average daily rate of approximately $21,800 per day, which is the ceiling of the rate band for that period. The newly fixed vessels were delivered to Quintana from August 2006 to April 2007. Sixteen of the seventeen vessels are already on long-term charter under a master time charter to Bunge S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bunge Limited (NYSE:BG), an integrated global agribusiness. An additional Panamax, Grain Harvester, is fixed on a separate time charter with Bunge through September 2009 at $20,000 per day and was delivered to Quintana in September 2006.
