HST Marine's Second Hybrid-Electric CTV Welcomed by British Maritime Leaders
Offshore crew transfer firm HST Marine has welcomed the arrival of its new UK-built hybrid-electric crew transfer vessel (CTV), HST Frances.The ceremony was attended by Nusrat Ghani MP, UK Minister of State (Dept. for Business and Trade and the Cabinet Office) and senior British maritime industry leaders.HST Frances is HST Marineâs second hybrid electric CTV. The 25-meter vessels can carry 12-24 industrial personnel, and its hybrid electric propulsion system cuts fuel consumption by 30% compared to similar CTVs powered by diesel engines, the company, owned by Purus Marine, said Friday.
Choked Port Won't Cancel Christmas, Britain Says

Cargill, MV Cargo to Build Grain Terminal in Ukraine
Cargill and MV Cargo formalized their intention to construct a grain terminal in the port of Yuzhny on the Black Sea coast in Ukraine by signing a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA). The signing ceremony was held in Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyukâs cabinet office in the presence of the U.S Ambassador to Ukraine and senior Ukrainian government officials. âUkraine is already one of the worldâs great agricultural producers, but it should be an agricultural superpower,â said U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey R. Pyatt during the ceremony. âI think I have a pretty clear idea of what American agricultural companies are now looking for,â he said.
U.K. Shipping Minister Commits to Maritime Industry
U.K. Shipping minister says he is committed to putting the £31.7-billion shipping industry center-stage. Rolls-Royce Appoint Ian Davis Chairman
Rolls-Royce announce that Ian Davis will succeed Sir Simon Robertson as Chairman. Mr. Davis will join the Board as a non-executive Director on 1 March 2013 and take over from Sir Simon at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 2 May 2013. Ian Davis spent more than thirty years with McKinsey & Company, including six as Chairman and Worldwide Managing Director. He serves, as a non-executive Director, on the Boards of BP and Johnson & Johnson and is a non-executive member of the Cabinet Office Board.
