SENER Presents at SNAME Convention

SENER took part once again in the Annual Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) Convention in the U.S., this time in Houston from October 20-24. Between the different activities during this event that congregates most part of the ship design and production community, it is organized the Ship production Symposium, with the aim of showing the most innovative innovations in this sector. SENER presented a work titled “The ultimate approach for general arrangement definition,” written by Verónica Alonso and Rodrigo Pérez and presented by the latter.

Sener Provides Second Virtual Design Center to Navantia

Sener was the winning bidder for the turnkey project for the second Virtual Design Center (VDC) of Navantia, this time for its Factory in Ferrol. This is the second with similar scope supplied by Sener to Navantia, after the first installation in the Factory of Cartagena in 2011, which is now fully operative. With capacity for 30 occupants, the new VDC has a fixed screen of five meters wide and 2.6 meters high, with overhead projector and a system of first reflection mirror due to the dimensions of the room.

Seaplace acquires FORAN V70 Licenses

The Spanish engineering company Seaplace has recently acquired new licenses of the CAD/CAM FORAN System, to be used in its marine projects. The scope of the new agreement includes the packages of Forms, Naval Architecture and Advanced Design and Drawing of the version V70 of FORAN. These licenses are added to the ones Seaplace already had. “FORAN System efficiency allows us to be very competitive in concept and basic design projects and in particular in the projects of specific vessels for offshore operations” said José María Berbiela after the signature of the new agreement.

Seaplace Acquires New Licenses of FORAN V70

The scope of the new agreement includes the packages of Forms, Naval Architecture and Advanced Design and Drawing of the version V70 of FORAN. These licenses are added to the ones Seaplace already had. “FORAN System efficiency allows us to be very competitive in concept and basic design projects and in particular in the projects of specific vessels for offshore operations” said José María Berbiela after the signature of the new agreement. Seaplace is currently using the Naval Architecture modules of FORAN V70 for the design of an Offshore Crane Vessel with a lifting capacity of 2,500 ST and length overall of 172,5 m.

SENER and CSDDC Sign Agreement

SENER and China Ship Development and Design Center (CSDDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understand for the implementation of the shipbuilding CAD/CAM FORAN system in CSDDC and for the collaboration in ship design and engineering activities and other marine related works. The agreement has been signed in Madrid at SENER headquarters during a visit of a delegation from CSDDC.
