Tanzania Inks Deals with DP World to Operate Dar es Salaam Port Berths

Tanzania on Sunday signed agreements with Dubai state-owned ports operator DP World to operate part of the Dar es Salaam port for 30 years, a deal that has previously been opposed by Tanzania opposition and rights groups.Plasduce Mbossa, director general of state-owned Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) which currently manages the port, said DP World will lease and operate four of the 12 berths at the country's largest port.Dar es Salaam also serves landlocked nations in east and southern Africa like Uganda…

ESG Launches Z-Drive Tug for Bisso Offshore

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has announced the launching of the first of two (2) 80’ 5,100 HP Z-Drive Tugs. The C.D. WHITE for Bisso Offshore, LLC, a division of E.N. Conrad Names Oceangoing Tug for Hawaii

The provider of shipbuilding services Conrad Shipyard christened the oceangoing tug Kāpena Bob Purdy for Young Brothers Ltd, of Honolulu, Hawaii, a subsidiary of Foss Maritime Company.During the ceremony, which was held at Conrad Amelia in Amelia, Louisiana, Gary Lipely, Conrad Director of Sales and Marketing serving as master of ceremonies, introduced Joseph Boivin of Young Brothers, Will Roberts of Foss Maritime, and Julia MacDonald, Ship’s Sponsor.Father Clyde Mahler of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City conducted the christening, said a press release from the company which designs, builds and overhauls tugboats, ferries, liftboats…

Eastern Launches Towboat for IWL River

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the Impala Mompox (Hull #245) on October 24, 2016. This is the third in a series of four Inland River Towboats for IWL River, Inc. This series of CT Marine designed 134 ft. ABS Classed Inland River Service towboats are Triple Screw with a Retractable Pilothouse and all are currently under construction at Eastern’s Allanton facility. The vessel deliveries are scheduled to start in late 2016 and continue into 2017. The launch was hosted by Eastern's Project Manager Joe Stark.

Another Tug Launched for Suderman & Young

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. said it launched on August 15, 2016 the final vessel in a series of four Z-Tech Class Terminal & Escort Tugs being constructed for Suderman & Young Towing Company. The tug Poseidon is scheduled to be delivered later in 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. He spoke about the dedication and hard work of all of ESG’s employees, making the series of tugs a success.

Eastern Launches Towboat for IWL River

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the second vessel in a series of four new inland river towboats for IWL River, Inc. The newly built vessel, Impala Puerto Salgar (Hull #244), was launched on August 2, 2016. The series of CT Marine designed 134 ft. ABS Classed Inland River Service towboats are Triple Screw with a Retractable Pilothouse and all are currently under construction at Eastern’s Allanton facility. The vessel deliveries are scheduled to start in late 2016 and continue into 2017. The launch was hosted by Eastern's Project Manager Joe Stark.

Eastern Launches Impala Soledad for IWL River

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. launched the Impala Soledad, the first in a series of four inland river towboats for IWL River, Inc. This series of CT Marine designed 134 ft. ABS Classed Inland River Service towboats are Triple Screw with a Retractable Pilothouse and all are currently under construction at Eastern’s Allanton facility. The vessel series is scheduled for delivery starting in late 2016 into 2017. The launch on June 10, 2016 was hosted by Eastern’s Project Manager Joe Stark, a Navy veteran, followed by a decorated 25 year career with the FDNY as a Marine Engineer.

Bay-Houston's New Escort Tug Launched

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched Laura B, the final vessel in a series of four Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class terminal and escort tugs built for Bay-Houston Towing Co. The Laura B is scheduled to deliver in 2016. The launch ceremony was on July 1, 2016 at the builder’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager at Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Eastern Launches MPSV for Harvey Gulf

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched M/V Harvey Blue-Sea (Hull 250) on April 29, 2016 for Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc. of New Orleans, La. The Harvey Blue-Sea is the second of two 340’ Class Multi-Purpose Service Vessels (MPSV), designed by VARD Marine. The launching event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees, several representatives from Harvey Gulf and guests in attendance. Father Roy Marien of Saint John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, Florida, performed the blessing of the vessel.

Tug Launched for Suderman & Young at Eastern

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. launched the Escort Tug OCEANUS for Suderman & Young Towing Company on April 26, 2016. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The vessel is scheduled for delivery later in July 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. He spoke about the dedication and hard work of all of ESG’s employees, making the series of tugs a success. Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City blessed the vessel and Eastern’s own, accounting assistant Carol McMillin, had the honor of christening the vessel.

Eastern Shipbuilding Launches the Zyana K

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the Escort Tug ZYANA K (Hull 238) for Bay-Houston Towing Co. on February 19, 2016. A series of four Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The ZYANA K is scheduled to deliver in 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager at Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Patrick praised the Eastern employees for all their hard work and G&H Towing for their commitment to the project. Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. launched the Escort Tug NEPTUNE for Suderman & Young Towing Company on January 5, 2016. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The vessel is scheduled to deliver in the second quarter of this year. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Mike Nigro, V.P. of G&H Towing shared a few words about the quality work and commitment of the companies involved, Mike’s wife Lisa and Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City blessed the vessel.

Eastern, Harvey Gulf Launch MV Harvey Stone

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announced the launch of the M/V Harvey Stone (Hull 234) on December 18, 2015 for Harvey Gulf International Marine, LLC of New Orleans. The Harvey Stone is a Rampage 6400 multipurpose field support vessel (MPFSV), designed by Robert Allan, LTD of Vancouver, B.C. The launching event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees, several representatives from Harvey Gulf and guests in attendance. ESG Replicates Historic Schooner 'Columbia'

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. (ESG) informs that a steel hull replica of the historic Gloucester Fishing Schooner COLUMBA has been launched at its Panama City, Florida, shipyard with employees, dignitaries and guests in attendance. The original COLUMBIA was a 141’ classic Gloucester Fishing Schooner built at the historic A.D. Story shipyard of Essex, Massachusetts, which was the center for North American Fishing Schooner construction. At the christening ceremony, Brian D’Isernia, owner of Eastern Shipbuilding Group spoke about the journey of bringing the COLUMBIA back to life, the teamwork of the companies, and thanked the hard work of the men and women that made this dream possible. ESG Deliver Towboat, Launch PSV

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. informs that it has delivered the towboat MV Kimberly Hidalgo to Florida Marine, and on the same day launched the Platform Support Vessel (PSV) MV Bravante lX for Boldini S.A., Bravante Group of Brazil. The new tugboat is  one of a series with EPA Tier 3 main propulsion engines and generators delivered to Florida Marine. The reduction gears are direct coupled Twin-Disc Model MG- 5600 with a 6.04:1 reduction supplied by Stewart Supply, Inc. of Harvey, Louisiana. Electrical power is provided by two (2) 99kW John Deere 4045AFM85 99KW Tier 3 generator sets rated for 60 Hz, at 208 VAC provided by Kennedy Engine Company of Biloxi, MS. These diesel engines comply with the current EPA Tier 3/MARPOL control of emissions of nitrogen oxides from marine diesel engines.

Eastern Holds another Double Event for Hornbeck Offshore

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announced another “double event” in Panama City, Florida. On Friday, August 8, 2014, the christening and subsequent launching of the HOS Brass Ring (Hull 209), was followed with the same day delivery of the HOS Black Rock (Hull 207) for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. The launch event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees and guests in attendance with an afternoon of perfect weather and launch conditions. Attending the launch from Hornbeck was Bill Krewsky, Director of Engineering and Project Management.

Eastern Launches Second MPSV for Hornbeck

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the second of two 302’x76’x26’ multipurpose service vessels in the HOSMPSV 310ES series for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC., the shipbuilder announced. The new vessel, HOS Woodland (Hull 242), was launched at Eastern’s Allanton facility on Friday, June 19 at an event with hundreds of Eastern employees and guests in attendance. HOS Woodland is the second ship to be christened on Eastern’s newly constructed 425’ rocker beam system installed on the northeast corner of Allanton’s 760’ launch basin.

On Friday, October 24, 2014, the christening and subsequent launching of the HOS Brairwood (Hull 210) the 10th HOSMAX launch in 20 months, followed with the same day delivery of the HOS Black Watch  (Hull 208) both for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. The launch event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees and guests in attendance with an afternoon of perfect weather and launch conditions.

The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Mr. D’Isernia praised all the hard work by the employees and Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, FL. blessed the vessel. Joey’s daughter, Blair, had the honor of christening the vessel.
