Dubai Establishes Maritime Arbitration Centre

The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) is in the final stages of completing the rules for the first maritime arbitration centre in the Middles East: the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) says Al Tamimi & Company, Advocates and Legal Consultants. The move to set up EMAC reflects Dubai’s commitment to creation a full-fledged legal environment within the maritime sector with an aim to develop, regulate and enhance the emirate’s competitiveness as a global maritime hub. The maritime arbitration centre with international standards is expected to boost the stature of the emirate as a hub of maritime activities in the world. This arbitration centre is being launched pursuant to Dubai Maritime City Authority’s Law No.

EIMA Signs MoU with World Maritime University

Drydocks World, Maritime World Host French Trade Delegation

Drydocks World & Maritime World, a  service providers to the maritime and oil and gas sectors, announced  that they hosted a delegation of representatives of French companies from Brittany under the aegis of the French Trade Commission Ubifrance of the French Embassy in UAE. Middle East Port Upgrade

DP World, UAE Region announce  completion of the first phase of the Al Hamriya port development plans aimed at modernising and upgrading the port to meet customers and fishermen’s growing needs. The first phase now opened includes the upgrading of 1 million square feet of yard, which has been paved, metal fenced, and gated. These open yards  are now available for lease for traders and logistics companies. The second phase includes a modern facility for the exclusive use of the fishing industry at the port. Construction work has already begun on the facility and is due to be completed this year. The development will create a new 1,650-metre long wharf with a capacity to accommodate 190 fishing boats.
