Washington State Ferries Adds Extra Trips
Friday’s preseason game against the Denver Broncos marks the start of football fans’ ferry travel season. To manage the influx of people, Washington State Ferries will provide additional ferry sailings leaving Bremerton at 10:15 p.m. and leaving Seattle at 11:30 p.m. Each home game, thousands of fans take ferries on their way to CenturyLink Field. The 12th Man isn’t alone in making for busy ferries this weekend: Hempfest and a Sounders game will also to add to rider counts. Strong Support for Frost & Sullivan 'Trail Charity Run'
Held on 23 August 2014, Frost & Sullivan Singapore’s 9th edition of the ‘Frost the Trail’ run saw 165 teams, 95 individuals and over 750 runners gather at the MacRitchie Reservoir Park to run in support of the underprivileged. ‘Frost the Trail’ saw both avid and novice runners hitting the winding trails of MacRitchie in the cool morning air amidst lush greenery. Runners participated in one of two categories – the 5 km team race as well as the 10 km individual race. In total, Frost the Trail Singapore 2014 helped raised more than SGD140k, with 100% of proceeds going directly to this year’s adopted charity, Bright Hill Evergreen Home. Bright Hill Evergreen Home is a 250 bed, accredited, 100 per cent non-profit Nursing Home for the destitute and poor.
Ports Wager Seafood over NFL Showdown
Port of New Orleans President and CEO Gary LaGrange issued a challenge to Port of Seattle CEO Tay Yoshitani three days ahead of the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks NFC Divisional Playoff game. The Port of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, is betting tasty, fresh Louisiana seafood with the Port of Seattle that the Saints will be victorious. “The Who Dat Nation is on a roll, just like Louisiana,” LaGrange said. The Louisiana seafood includes boiled crawfish, wild alligator and New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp.
