Germany Completes Construction of Floating LNG Terminal

Germany on Tuesday completed construction of its first floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the North Sea port of Wilhelmshaven as it scrambles to secure more LNG and move away from Russian pipeline gas."The new LNG landing place is a big step towards a secure energy supply," said Lower Saxony economy minister Olaf Lies in a statement.A floating storage and regasification (FSRU) unit will be moored at a now expanded pier before the end of this year and enabled to regasify LNG arriving on special tankers…

OW Bunker Delivers Significant Time Savings

Time of bunkering process significantly reduced providing savings of thousands of dollars per day. OW Bunker has announced significant efficiency benefits following the commencement of distributing fuel oil with an MPA-approved (Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore) Coriolis Flow Meter on-board its latest barge in Singapore, Marine Noel. The time to supply bunkers, which normally takes between seven and eight hours has been reduced by 50% by using the Coriolis Flow Meter, providing customers with significant time, and therefore, cost savings.

OW Bunker Launches 3rd Barge in Singapore

OW Bunker, a physical distributor and reseller of marine fuels, today announced the launch of its third barge in Singapore. According to the company, the move is part of its strategy to continue the expansion of its physical operation in the region. The vessel also has a Coriolis Flow Meter installed, which has been approved by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Marine Noel, operated by Sinanju Tankers Pte Ltd, is a modern, 4,700 DWT barge, built in 2012. The vessel has fast pumping rates and can distribute the full range of quality products to customers.

OW Bunker Launches Australia Operations

OW Bunker, a physical distributor and reseller of marine fuels, announced the launch of a physical distribution operation in Australia. The move is part of OW Bunker’s strategy to further expand the company’s global physical distribution presence in key locations for customers, ensuring end-to-end quality in the services and products that it provides. OW Bunker has leased a fuel oil tank in Port Kembla, New South Wales. The company will provide vessels with a full range of products including RMG 380 cSt and RME 180 cSt fuel oil ex-pipe and DMA gas oil by road tanker.

OW Bunker Appoints New Trading Manager

OW Bunker, a supplier and trader of marine fuel, announced the appointment of Stathis Grafakos as the new manager of OW Bunker Malta's Trading Division. Prior to joining OW Bunker, Grafakos spent 10 years in a variety of roles with ExxonMobil, including laboratory services, supply chain & logistics and sales. A Greek national, Grafakos has an expertise in the manufacturing and development of marine lubricants, along with extensive experience in technical and commercial operations within the marine sector. Grafakos will work closely alongside  Panayotis Bachtis, Branch Manager of OW Bunker Malta Ltd. “We're delighted that Stathis has taken up this new role with OW Bunker Malta,” said Søren Christian Meyer, Global Sales Director, OW Bunker.
