Pivotal LNG announced a multi-year agreement to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Carib Energy LLC, a Crowley Maritime Corp. subsidiary. Crowley Maritime Corp. said its liquefied natural gas (LNG) services group has been awarded a multi-year contract to supply containerized LNG from the U.S. mainland to Molinos de Puerto Rico, the Caribbean arm of Ardent Mills LLC, supplier of flour, wheat, corn and rice-based food ingredients. The contract was executed through Crowleyâs subsidiary Carib Energy (USA) LLC, and includes both the supply and transportation of LNG. Chevron Corporation informed that Alexander B. Cummings Jr. has been elected to Chevron's board of directors, and he will serve on the company's Audit Committee. John Watson, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Chevron said, "Mr. Cummings is a proven business leader who brings international experience and a global outlook. 'Fantasy Fuel': Novozymes Looks to the Future
When Denmark's Novozymes first wondered in 2000 how its mass-produced enzymes could be used to make advanced biofuel, the industry did not exist and only now is the fruit of its labour emerging after years of being lampooned as a "fantasy fuel". But as commercial production of transportation fuel made from plant waste rather than valuable corn finally starts in the United States, Brazil and Europe, Novozymes has already turned its gaze towards bioplastics and even diapers. With the biofuels sector waging a drawn-out regulatory battle with 'Big Oil' over potentially damaging cuts to biofuel targets in the United States, Novozymes says it has contingency plans.
Crowley Gets Small-Scale NFTA LNG Supply License
Crowley Maritime Corp. informs that its subsidiary Carib Energy LLC has been granted a 20-year, small-scale U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) export license for the supply, transportation and distribution of U.S.-sourced liquefied natural gas (LNG) into Non-Free Trade Agreement (NTFA) countries in the Caribbean, Central and South America. As a result, both commercial and industrial customers within NFTA countries can now benefit from cost-efficient, environmentally friendly LNG exported from the U.S. The licensing permits Crowley to now export 14.6 billions of cubic feet (BCF) 0.04bcf/d of LNG â roughly the equivalent of 480,000 gallons â per day via 10,700 gallon ISO tanks to these regions.

Crowley to Ship LNG to Coco Cola Puerto Rico Plant Long Term
Crowleyâs Carib Energy has been awarded a multi-year contract to supply containerized, U.S.-sourced Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to its first industrial customer, Coca-Cola Puerto Rico Bottlers in Cayey and Club Caribe in Cidra, both wholly owned subsidiaries of CC1 Companies, LLC. The contract, executed through Crowleyâs Carib Energy subsidiary, includes the fuel supply and transportation of LNG to two of the manufacturerâs plants in Cayey and Cidra, Puerto Rico, which will provide both facilities with substantially lowered emissions and an alternative to their current fuel source, diesel.
Belize Court Stymies Offshore Drilling Plans
Belize's Supreme Court declared offshore drilling contracts issued by the Government of Belize (in 2004 and 2007) null and void. The ruling, handed down by Justice Oswell Legall , was in response to a case brought by Oceana, COLA, and the Belize Coalition to Save Our Natural Heritage. It effectively ends the Belizean government's immediate effort to allow offshore oil drilling in the Meso American Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. The court overturned the contracts after determining that the government failed to assess the environmental impact on Belize's ocean, as required by law, prior to issuing the contracts. The court also found that contracts were made to companies that did not demonstrate a proven ability to contribute the necessary fundsâŚ
