Comark’s Shipboard Applications Display Passes MIL-STD-901D Shock Testing

Comark Corporation completed full environmental testing of its latest version of the MDU19PC ruggedized COTS computer including MIL-901D grade-A lightweight shock test. The MDU19PC is an all-in-one display and computer designed and tested to meet military requirements for shipboard applications including propulsion, machinery control and ECDIS navigation. The panel is NEMA 4 rated when panel mounted and is available with an array of options including touchscreen, Intel 2nd generation core i5 or i7 processing, speakers and optional front access USB ports.

Comark Marine Displays Approved for Navy

Comark Announces MDU42 Large Screen Marine Display Passes Military Testing. Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized computer and display solutions for the marine and military markets, announced the availability of the MIL Certified MDU42. This 42” Marine Display Unit successfully passed MIL-STD 901D, Grade A, Medium Weight Testing; MIL-STD 167- class 1, type A; MIL-STD-810F; and MIL-STD-461E. These certifications are standard requirements for equipment used on Navy Surface ships.

Comark Receives ABS Type Approval

Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized computer solutions for the marine, military, and commercial markets, has received Type Approval on their 47” Series of MDU Marine Displays from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Type Approval is given to products for marine and offshore applications that are designed and tested, and can be consistently manufactured, to meet IEC 60945 Standards for Maritime Navigation and Radio Communication Equipment and Systems.

Comark Names Smudin as Director of Sales

Comark Corporation said that Rick Smudin joined Comark as the Director of Military and Marine Sales. Smudin is responsible for all aspects of Military and Marine sales, globally. Smudin brings 20 years of technical sales experience in the computer hardware, software and embedded markets, most recently holding positions with Sun Microsystems and AMD. Smudin is a Lt. Colonel in the US Army, having served in Iraq, and continues to serve in the reserves as a Battalion Commander. Smudin  attended West Point and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University…

Comark Corporation Receives ABS Type Approval

Comark Introduces 23-in LED Display

Comark Corporation announced the availability of the MDU23, a 23-in UXGA LED backlit display, which can be set at up to 400 NITS at full brightness. The MDU23 has been tested in accordance with IEC 60945, and is ECDIS and ECDIS-N compliant. In addition, it is fully MIL Tested to MIL-STD 901D grade A, MIL-STD 167- class 1, type A; MIL-STD-810F; and MILSTD-461E. The MDU23 features a machined aluminum bezel, conformal coating on all electronics and is available with an optional touchscreen.

Marine Panel Mount Computer Passes Shock Testing

Comark Corporation announced that its 12-inch Marine Panel Mount Display with integrated Computer and Touchscreen options has successfully passed the MIL-901D Grade A lightweight shock test. Testing was conducted at Sypris Test & Measurement Labs in Wayne, N.J. and consisted of multiple hits from a 400 lb hammer, dropped from a height of one ft, three ft, and five ft in three axis. The MDU12PC is available with both standard brightness and sunlight readable versions, up to 1000 NITs. Other features include a touchscreen interface, Core 2 Duo processing and multiple storage options.

Comark Corporation expanded its portfolio of display products by announcing the Comark Pilothouse Computer. The Pilothouse Computer is an integration of the Comark Pilothouse Display with a powerful general-purpose computer. It is designed for marine environments where space is limited. Enclosed in an aluminum chassis, the system includes a heavy-duty base that can be hard mounted to the wheelhouse console or hung from the ceiling, if required. With the all in one design, installation can be as easy as securing the unit to the console, connecting power and GPS.

Comark Corp Announces New Rackmount Chassis

Comark Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized custom computer solutions for the marine and military markets, expanded its portfolio of computer solutions by announcing the availability of the Rugged 5-Slot 2U Rackmount Chassis. The 2U Rackmount Chassis offers high-speed Core 2 Duo Quad processing, 16GB RAM, dual hot swappable drives, a hot swappable power supply, and a DVD/CD-RW drive. It is designed with a black steel case, aluminum front panel, and a locking front door that protects the power switch and 2 USB ports.

The MDU PC Series combines the functionality of a computer, display and optional touchscreen into a modular assembly. The MDUPC-15, MDUPC-19 and MDUPC-20 (15”, 19” and 20” displays respectively) are designed for military and rugged commercial marine markets.

Comark Expands EnduraShock Panels

Comark Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of custom computer solutions for the marine and military markets, expanded its portfolio of MIL qualified computer and display products with the availability of the EnduraShock™ 1900 Operator Interface Panel. The EnduraShock 1900 is a bulkhead-mounted modular computer and display unit designed to meet military specifications. The display is a 250 NIT, 19” diagonal LCD. An optional 1000 NIT LED backlit LCD is available for sunlight readability. Both display options are available with resistive touchscreens.

DuraMobile Computer Receives Approval

Comark Corporation, designer and manufacturer of custom computer solutions for the marine, military, industrial, and commercial markets, received type approval on their DuraMobile marine computer from the American Bureau of Ships (ABS). The DuraMobile has been designed and tested to meet the requirements of IEC60945 and provides a cost effective solution for marine applications requiring a type-approved computer. The computer has no moving parts and is cooled using an aluminum heat sink instead of fans and supports 2 PCI slots.
