Cosco Shipping Ports to Build Freight Station at Khalifa Port

Abu Dhabi Ports and Cosco Shipping Ports Limited (CSP) and Abu Dhabi Ports broke ground for the construction of a new container terminal at Khalifa Port during a high-profile event on Sunday, reported WAM. The ports also signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports Company for a container freight station, which is expected to be the largest in the region. The new container freight station will provide Abu Dhabi trade with a state of the art facility offering bonded 'LCL/FCL' consolidation and de-consolidation services, cross stuffing, cargo weight reduction, short term warehousing for de-consolidated cargo as well as easy connectivity with the container terminals in Khalifa Port.

Troy Container Lines Secures Rotterdam Agent

American-owned NVOCC Troy Container Line announced it has secured a new agent partnership agreement with Rotterdam-based NVOCC NVO Consolidation for both LCL and FCL import and export consolidation services.   “NVO Consolidation has an all-star team of logistics professionals from the Rotterdam market,” commented Chris Hellow, Troy’s COO of Imports. “I am very excited about this new partnership and looking forward to working closely with the NVO Consolidation team to further enhance services in the Rotterdam market.”   In announcing the agreement, Troy Container Line said it anticipates continued demand as a full service provider to and from Europe, and will continue to develop services in this trade lane, as well as around the world.

Troy Announces Italy Express Service

Troy Container Line has announced an improved express service from Genoa, Italy to New York. Along with its partner Combi Line International Spa, the companies will now offer a 10-day transit from Genoa in addition to pick-ups throughout Italy. The recent announcement, along with its export consolidation services to Italy, solidifies Troy’s standing as a full service provider in this region. Chris Hellow, COO of Imports, worked closely with Maurizio Briglia, of Combi Lines International Spa, to expedite transit times and enhance service capabilities in this market.

Triton Offers New South American Service

Ryder, Cargo Services Partnership

Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) has signed a joint venture (JV) partnership with Cargo Services Far East Limited (CSFE), an Asia-based logistics solutions provider specializing in export consolidation services. The combined capabilities of the companies will create a comprehensive, end-to-end service offering, with full geographic coverage throughout Asia, for North American retailers and other companies importing from Asia. Operating as Ryder Supply Chain Solutions Asia, the solution will provide Vendor and Purchase Order Management, Inland Transport Services, Export Consolidation and Order Fulfillment Services, including Distribution Center Bypass and Store-Ready Pallet Construction from Asia to North America.

U-Ocean Adds Oceanfreight Consols

Less than a year after U-Ocean, the oceanfreight arm of global freight forwarder the U-Freight Group (ufl) launched scheduled oceanfreight export consolidation services from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to Hong Kong, the global operator is undertaking a major expansion of the services that will boost its coverage of key markets throughout South East Asia. Early in 2008, weekly oceanfreight operations were established to serve markets in South East Asia via transhipment through the Hong Kong gateway, while a Los Angeles to Shanghai service was added in June 2008. Later this year, U-Ocean also plans to launch separate oceanfreight consolidation services connecting San Francisco with Hong Kong and Shanghai.
